Vendor Reviews & Recommendations

For anyone who hired a content creator alongside a traditional videographer, was it worth having both styles of coverage?

For anyone who hired a content creator alongside a traditional videographer, was it worth having both styles of coverage? It is a big add-on and I cannot tell if it is a trend or genuinely useful.

For anyone who hired a content creator alongside a traditional videographer, was it worth having both styles of coverage? Honest answer from someone who works alongside both: it depends entirely on what you will actually watch and share.

The two jobs are different:

  • A videographer makes the film you watch on anniversaries — ceremony audio, speeches, the cinematic edit. Delivered in weeks or months.
  • A content creator shoots vertical, phone-style clips for social media — behind the scenes, transitions, trend audio. Delivered in 24–48 hours.

Couples who love having both: big social media people, and couples whose family could not attend and wanted next-day clips. Couples who regretted it: anyone who never posts and just wanted "more footage."

One caution — make sure your videographer and content creator talk beforehand. I have seen them literally fight over the same angle during a first kiss.
